Acceptance and eligibility
By downloading, installing, purchasing, or using PlotKeeper, you agree to these Terms of Use and the Apple Standard End User License Agreement. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
You must have the legal capacity to enter into these terms in your jurisdiction. These terms are between you and the app provider, not Apple; subject to Apple’s own rights under its terms, Apple is not responsible for PlotKeeper or its content.
The service
PlotKeeper is a home-gardening journal. It manages plants across balconies, rooftops, allotments, and other plots; creates watering, fertilizing, weeding, and other care plans with local reminders; records care and health issues; and offers AI plant identification and diagnosis, optional iCloud sync, and PlotKeeper Pro.
PlotKeeper is a gardening aid, not professional agronomic, plant-protection, medical, or food-safety advice. Care intervals, reminders, and sync depend on the data you enter, weather and environment, device time, permissions, network, iOS scheduling, and iCloud status. Always check your plants and use your own judgment.
We may improve, adjust, suspend, or discontinue features when reasonably necessary. Availability may vary by device, region, iOS version, network, third-party services, and purchase eligibility.
AI identification and diagnosis
- Results are generated by an AI model from your photos and the information you provide. They may be inaccurate or incomplete and are for reference only.
- When pesticides, fungicides, or fertilizers are involved, follow the product label and local regulations, and observe pre-harvest intervals for food crops.
- For suspected quarantine pests, widespread disease, or other serious problems, consult a local agricultural extension service or a professional.
- Upload only photos you have the right to use. Do not upload unlawful, infringing, or sensitive content unrelated to plants, and do not automate requests or bypass usage limits.
- AI features require a network connection and are subject to daily limits, overall service capacity, and provider availability. Failures caused by the service being unavailable do not use up your allowance; repeating the same request within 24 hours returns the earlier result.
- We may change AI providers or models, or adjust allowances, to improve quality or manage costs.
Your responsibilities
- Enter and review garden information accurately, and keep your own backups of important records.
- Keep your device, Apple Account, network, and system permissions secure.
- Use PlotKeeper lawfully and respect others’ rights in the photos, names, and notes you add.
- Except where law expressly allows, do not misuse, interfere with, reverse engineer, or bypass security, usage-limit, or purchase controls.
- Do not rely on notifications as the only way to prevent plant damage, crop loss, or other harm.
Your content and data
You keep ownership of the content you add. You grant us a limited license only as needed to provide PlotKeeper: to process it on your device, to sync it through Apple iCloud when you turn sync on, and to send the relevant photos and information to our server and AI provider when you request an analysis.
You are responsible for appropriate backups. iCloud sync is not a guarantee against data loss, and when sync is on, deletions may propagate to your other devices.
PlotKeeper Pro, purchases, and subscriptions
PlotKeeper may offer monthly and annual auto-renewing subscriptions, a one-time lifetime purchase, and AI credit packs. Availability, local prices, taxes, billing periods, and offer eligibility are shown by the App Store before purchase; if they differ from this page, the purchase confirmation controls.
- Payment: Apple charges your Apple Account when you confirm a purchase. We do not receive full payment details.
- Auto-renewal: subscriptions renew automatically for the selected period unless you cancel through Apple at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
- Manage or cancel: use subscription management in iOS Settings or the App Store. Cancellation usually takes effect at the end of the paid period.
- Lifetime: a non-consumable purchase that grants PlotKeeper Pro access as then offered in the app, including future features, subject to these terms, App Store rules, and platform availability.
- AI credit packs: consumable purchases usable for identification or diagnosis. Credits do not expire with time but are used up as you use them. Credits are tied to purchase records on the device, may not be recoverable through Restore Purchases, and used credits are not restored.
- Free allowance: without Pro, AI identification and diagnosis include a limited number of free uses per day. Pro adds a higher daily allowance and all app icons. Current limits are shown in the app and may be reasonably adjusted based on costs.
- Restore: Restore Purchases asks Apple to resynchronize eligible transactions. It restores purchase entitlements, not garden data.
- Refunds: purchases, billing, cancellation, and refunds are handled by Apple under App Store rules.
- Entitlement changes: after expiration, refund, or revocation, Pro features may stop working and the app icon may return to the default. Saved garden data is not deleted as a result.
iCloud and third-party services
iCloud sync, App Store distribution, in-app purchases, App Attest, and system notifications are Apple services; AI analysis is performed by a third-party AI provider. Their availability and processing are governed by their own terms, and interruptions, regional limits, or changes may affect related PlotKeeper features.
Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what information PlotKeeper handles, where it is stored, and your choices. By using the app, you acknowledge the processing necessary to provide the features you choose.
Intellectual property and license
PlotKeeper and its software, visual design, text, branding, icons, and other developer-provided materials are protected by intellectual-property laws. Subject to these terms and Apple’s usage rules, you receive a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app on Apple devices you own or control.
No rights are granted except those expressly stated.
Disclaimer
To the maximum extent permitted by law, PlotKeeper is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation, on-time notifications, continuous iCloud availability, accurate AI results, or healthy plants and successful harvests. Mandatory consumer rights in your jurisdiction remain unaffected.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss arising from use of or inability to use PlotKeeper, including dead plants, reduced harvests, loss from following AI suggestions or applying pesticides or fertilizers, missed reminders, or lost records. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Suspension and termination
You may stop using PlotKeeper at any time. We may restrict AI and other online features when reasonably necessary to address unlawful use, security threats, material breach, platform requirements, or service discontinuation. Provisions that by nature should survive, such as ownership, disclaimers, limitations, and dispute provisions, continue after termination.
Changes and governing terms
We may update these terms for product, legal, security, or platform changes. The current effective date appears on this page, and material changes will be communicated when required. Where permitted by law, continued use after an update means you accept it.
Applicable law and forum are determined by mandatory law and Apple’s applicable distribution terms. These terms do not limit non-waivable consumer protections.
